The Vacuum Store is owned and operated by John and Cathy Wheeler.
John and Cathy are from Hurlock, a tiny town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. John worked for years as a door-to-door salesman for Electrolux, eventually working his way up the ladder to become a branch manager. In 1997, Cathy was offered a job teaching high-school English in Gainesville, GA. Instead, the Wheelers settled in Blairsville, and John transferred to the Murphy Electrolux office.
It soon became apparent that Blairsville needed a full-service vacuum store. So, in 1998, John opened one, and Cathy joined him in the business in 2001. Over time, all four of their children have worked in the Store, and in 2008 their son Drew joined them in the family business.
The Vacuum Store stocks all types of bags, belts, filters, attachments, hoses, cords, etc............everything you need for your vacuum cleaner, shampooer, or steam cleaner. John and Drew have years of experience working on all types of vacuum cleaners, even the more complex ones like Rainbow, Filter Queen, Electrolux, Kirby, and Dyson. They work on ALL brands, and estimates are always free.
Central vacuum systems are John's specialty. He is an expert in CV installation, even in homes that are already built, not just new construction. They repair not only the central vacuum systems, but also the piping and outlets that are installed in homes already. The Vacuum Store carries a wide variety of central vac equipment, and has the capability to order anything a customer wants.
John and Cathy have access to a huge database of parts and supplies, so if you need anything, just call them with a model number of a machine, and they will mail it out the same day.
